All The Light We Cannot See
~ Anthony Doerr
I LOVE historical fictions and this is so far the best one. The story is deeply moving and heartbreaking. It is set during the World War 2 period. The story revolves around Marie-Laure and Werner. A french girl and a german boy.
I honestly was impressed by Doerr’s ability to write in such a precise manner specially from the perspective of blind girl. I am honestly very much intrigued by World War 2 and this story stole my heart. There was so much pain and grief and calmness at the same time. The stories of Marie-Laure and Werner runs parallel and eventually at the end the two character met.
I barely had any moment when I was bored or confused with what was going on. I honestly was not able to put this book down because of the story, the story was so powerful and gripping. Everything in this book is beautiful, the story, the characters, everything connected so well. Another thing I loved was that Anthony continued the story even after the war ends. There was a glimpse of what the characters are doing after the war, their lives after the war.
I was living in two worlds in the same time. This book was heart warming and heart wrenching at the same time.
