12 Things to do during Home Quarantine – Part 1

Hello Guys! I hope you all are doing well. Washing your hands for 20 seconds, using sanitizers and disinfectant sprays, avoiding public gatherings and are taking every possible step to stay safe. My life right now just does not feel real, it’s like I am in a movie or something, I just don’t know how to feel right now but one thing I know for sure is many of you might be in-home quarantine right now and not being able to go out is one of my biggest fear. Actually, social distancing is what I need right now and I am trying to adjust with things.

These are the things that I do right now and I hope these things will help you pass your time during the “quarantine” period!

1. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

This is the time when you can start something new, learning a new language will help you in the future and will help you pass your time for now. The languages which are widely spoken throughout the world are-

English

Hindi

Mandarin Chinese

Spanish

French

Turkish

German

Japanese

Portuguese

Russian

Swahili

2. PLAY INDOOR GAMES

Playing outdoors is impossible for now but it does not mean that you just can’t play and by indoor games, I do not mean playing games on your mobile phones or laptops! You can just use things inside your house and play some indoor games. For example: Take an empty bucket or an empty trash can, take a ball and try to put your ball inside that bucket, play with your siblings and compete with each other or Just hide something like a pair of earrings, maybe a coin, marble or anything, now crate some clues and let your other siblings find the treasure.

Some of my favourite indoor games include:

The Trash Can & Ball game

UNO

Housie

Ludo

Snake and Ladder

Treasure Hunt

Heads Up

3. BINGE WATCH

4. DOODLE

Doodling is some that I do very often. When I am sad, mad, cringy, anxious, the first thing that I do to calm myself down is doodling. It is a pretty basic thing and you don’t need to be Picasso to doodle. Just draw whatever comes in your mind. Draw a mandala, draw a sun, draw mountains, draw random lines or shapes, draw a unicorn draw whatever you feel. It is something that will calm you and also help you pass your time. I can easily doodle for 3-4 hours when I have nothing much to do.

5. Wash Your Hands

Yup! Wash your hands after every 1-2 hours for 20 seconds.

6. DO YOUR HOMEWORK

Let’s be real, our schools/colleges are not over forever. We still have those pending review sheets and assignments. Complete them and practice your subjects daily so that you don’t forget the basics.

7. BUILD A CASTLE

Yes! Something that we all have built in our childhood. Build a castle and enjoy. You will have fun building it and after completing it take a nap and ta-da that is it actually. The real motive is to pass your time so don’t judge!

8. LISTEN TO PODCAST

Listen to podcasts, podcasts are actually amazing and if you don’t love reading books, podcasts are ideal for you.

Here is the list of some of my favourite podcasts:

Welcome to Night Vale

Stuff You Should Know

Everything Is Alive

Beautiful Stories Fron Anonymous People

Ologies

9. READ A BOOK

10. Spend Time With Your Family, TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Admit it, that we all forget to talk to our mom and dad because of our busy schedule. So, I am taking this time out to talk with my mom and dad. Spend time with my siblings, talk about our relationships and everything and strengthen our bonds.

11. SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY

I have so many memories that have the power to make me laugh and cry, the nostalgia you know! Everyone has their childhood memories that you adore, that can make you laugh no matter how bad the day was. Sit along share your memories, live that day again!

12. PRACTISE MEDITATION

Meditation has the power that can make you the best version of yourself. Take out some time (you have the whole day) and meditate. Connect your soul with the supreme power, energize yourself, build up your immunity and get ready for the day.

13. EXERCISE/YOGA

If you have never workout, this is the time when you can do some exercise and build up your muscle. My favourite app is Nike Training Club, I use it whenever I feel like giving up and not going to the gym, we all have some days when the gym is just not worth more than our sleep. I usually have those kinda days which is the reason I use NTC a lot.

DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO!

XOXO
